To be a successful bowler, you need to know your averages. Averaging 12 games will give the best possible average and it is essential in league play where your total can determine who has an advantage over others with different handicaps!

Bowling Average

The average person bowls about 100 balls per game. The total number of games they've bowled would be calculated by adding up all the scores and dividing it by how many times you bowled in a single match or tournament, which gives your bowlingogenous an idea of what kind of score he/she could expect from others when playing against them.

Calculating Your Average

To determine your average bowling score, it's important to know how many games you've played and the total points scored in those matches. If a beginner like yourself has only gone through this sport once or twice before then there may not be enough data available for an accurate calculation but over time that number will add up so keep track of all records whether on paper or using apps which helps communicate between players by keeping statistics from one game into another.

To calculate a first-time bowler's average score after three games just "Add together each game's score" then Divide the total by the number of games played.

Bowling Handicap

"Handicapping [is] the means of placing bowlers and teams of varying degrees of bowling skill on as equitable a basis as possible for competition against each other." as defined by The United States Bowling Congress.

Handicapping is all about calculating the amount you'll need to spend on lessons and practice. First, calculate your basis score and percentage factor.

To calculate your handicap, you first need to subtract the average from the basis score and then multiply it by the percentage factor. If 150 minus 200 equals 50 with an 80% factor applied in this example (40/100), so we would end up at 40 points for our final result!

When scoring a game, you would add 40 to your actual score in order to find out what's called adjusted. For instance, if 130 was the amount before handicap then after adding it up with all other scores the total will be 170.
